Anne of Green Gables by The St. Albert Children’s Theatre

Anne of Green Gables – The Musical follows the misadventures of a precocious and wildly independent 12-year-old girl, Anne Shirley, who has fiery red hair and a hot temper to match.

After having been mistakenly sent to live with plainspoken farmer Matthew and his spinster sister Marilla, who thought they were adopting a boy, Anne with an ‘e’ captures the hearts and minds of her newfound family in the small farming community of Avonlea. Her irrepressible spirit and imagination, coupled with her contagiously endearing personality, win over audiences as well with this warm, poignant story about love, home, and family.

This original adaptation based on the beloved novel by L.M. Montgomery is now firmly embedded in Canadian national culture and musical theatre cannon as it continues to enrapture audiences around the world with its rich score and a rare, moving story for all ages.

DETAILS

• This event is only open to ROOTS families.  Two weeks prior to the registration deadline non-Roots families can register if tickets are still available.

• Recommended Ages: None, but attendees must be able to sit through the length of the performance (approximately 2 hours, with a 15 minute intermission)

• Are younger (non-participating) siblings welcome? YES - please use your own judgment if your child can sit through the performance. Babes-in-Arms (under 2 years) do not require a paid ticket.

• Should guests bring lunch? YES - Families can eat inside the lobby of the Arden Theatre or in the lobby of St. Albert Place. Please note that you may not hear the warning bell from the St. Albert Place lobby. Eating is NOT allowed inside the theatre.   

• Any specific dress/attire required? No, but this is a theatre, so dress-wear is encouraged. Additionally, since it will be winter, it is recommended to dress in layers. 

• Arrival Time: 10:45 am

• Registration deadline date: November 10, 2026 at 11:59 pm

• Refund Policy: No refunds, unless you can find someone else to transfer your tickets to. Please note that the Roots Office must be notified in advance. 

PARENTS' HOUSEKEEPING

1. We need your assistance in ensuring that you and your children arrive on time. Please ensure you arrive no later than 10:45 am.

2. Parents are required to purchase a ticket to the performance. Parents are responsible for transporting and supervising their children at all times during the performance. If your child is attending with another family/adult, a letter with the parent signature, stating who is responsible for your child in your absence (an adult staying on site), must be given to the event organizer.

3. There are no refunds unless you can find someone else to transfer your tickets to. Please note that the Roots Office must be notified in advance. 

4. It is recommended that each child brings a labelled water bottle, as water fountains are not always available.

Students: Roots reserves the right to make final decisions regarding the acceptance of any student into the program. Students who do not demonstrate an attitude of cooperation and willingness to respect the rights and property of others will be dismissed after two warnings are issued. There will be no refund.

WAIVER

On behalf of my child, I/we hereby waive and release the Roots Christian Home Education Fellowship, The Father’s House Christian School and any Roots volunteer/facilitator/administrative staff of the Roots Christian Home Education Fellowship from any liability to my(our) children. I/We are fully aware of the risks and potential for harm involved in such events, and on behalf of our child, release from liability Roots Christian Home Education Fellowship (Roots), The Father’s House Christian School and waive any claims such minor may have as a result of an accident, mishap or negligence of the Released Party and/or and other party under or affiliated with the Released Party.

I acknowledge that I, the parent/guardian of the registered attendee/s agree to stay on site at the venue of the program, and if space allows in the classroom to oversee my child/ren for the duration of the program.  Should I not be able to stay at the venue with my child/ren, a handwritten note with my signature will be sent with my child and given to the program organizer, stating the adult who is staying on site and has agreed to be responsible for my child/ren for the duration of the program.
