This program combines exploring art in the Leighton Art Centre’s museum with hands-on art lessons in our historic art studios. Here at Leighton, nature is our inspiration, our classroom and our playground.

About the Event

Tentative Itinerary  

• Arrival and Introduction 

• Sketchbook Warm-Up (may include introduction to main project)

• Nature Walk and Visit to the Leighton’s House and Gallery

• Lunch Break (approx. 25 minutes)

• Main Project: Wire Sculpture

• Departure

*Suitable for Grades 1-6. We apologize that we're not able to accommodate younger students or babes in arms. 

Chaperones are free and have the option of paying $5.00 cash to complete the main project. 

Please dress appropriately for the weather and bring a packed lunch.

My child is not registered with Roots, can they still attend? 

Yes, this fieldtrip is open to all homeschoolers. 

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? 

No, you do not have to bring a ticket. We will have a master list with all the registration info. Individual theatre tickets will not be issued, we will be directed to our reserved seats by theatre staff. 

If I am unable to attend may I get a refund? 

We're sorry but we are unable to provide refunds. But, please feel free to find another family to sell or pass along your tickets to
