Basic Bike Mechanics Workshop

Students will learn how to change a flat tire, adjust brakes, adjust gears, lube chains, and to clean and do a bike safety check.

The first part of the course is instruction time and the second part the kids will have to practice the skills they have learned on their own bikes.

Kids need to bring a bike for this course

This event has been sponsered by Cranked Bike Shop whom will provide a generous take home kit with a value of $25+

The event will be held rain or shine. In the event of rain the class will take place in the covered pavillion by the pond at Nose Creek Park.

Parents are welcome to stay and hang out at the playground with other siblings.

About the instructor – Grade 12 student, Ethan Schalk, is a former Roots student and is a bike mechanic at Cranked Bike Shop in Airdrie. We are very grateful he has some spare time to run this program for Roots Students.

Please note that there are two different groups being run on the same date, Group A 12:30-2:30pm OR Group B 3-5pm. Select the group you want to be in when purchasing tickets.

• Registration Deadline is September 14, 2022.
• Ages: 10-17  
• Attire: wear clothes that you don't mind getting dirty or grease on. 
• Arrival: 10 minutes prior to start time

By registering for the Roots Gym program, I understand that TFH society and its branches Roots Home Education/The Father’s House Christian School, at all organizational levels, will not be held responsible for accidents, injury, loss or damage to an individual or any individual’s property. I agree the applicant/s are in good health and able to participate in the physical activity of this program. In the event the applicant is injured, I give permission for a staff member or parent volunteer to seek medical attention.
