About the Event
Ironman Blacksmithing, owned by Stephen and Brenda Woodall , has been providing the services of a traditional blacksmith to the people and businesses of central Alberta for over 30 years. Over the last 3 years, they have been hosting blacksmithing workshops at their location near Linden, AB. These workshops have been introducing blacksmithing to participants ages 12 - 70 , many of whom have come back again to continue building their skill set.
In this workshop, after a brief introduction and safety talk, we will start by making a horseknife.
This project will teach the foundation skills of splitting, elongating, twisting, bending, and flaring while working with a long piece of steel.
The emphasis for this project is splitting, which is an advanced skill.
After lunch for those who have finished their horseknife we will be making leaf hook.
