Kristen Federchuk Fine Art – Intro to Art for Children & Youth (Calgary)

A 10 week introductory course to art for children and youth. In this course students will explore essential elements of art: Correct proportions, good composition, the use of shading/shadow & light to create dimension, Perspective drawing/Creating depth, Colour Wheel Basics & Mixing, Texture. The first week students will learn how to make their own logo and create a portfolio to store their artwork in.  The following 5 weeks students will learn a new art concept with some more involved multi-week projects for the last 4 weeks that apply what has been learned.

Students will be working in: Pencil, Pen/Ink, Pencil Crayon, Felt and Oil Pastels (please note this is an introductory art course not a painting class).  Necessary papers will be supplied, all other supplies are the students responsibility to provide.
