Little Women at the Citadel - Edmonton

The March sisters, Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy, navigate childhood to adulthood while facing the trials of life in 1860s Massachusetts. Struggling to balance societal pressures and expectations with their own hopes and dreams, the sisters are united by the bonds of family, love and loyalty. This classic coming-of-age story, adapted for the stage by Canadian playwright Jordi Mand is a heartwarming tale filled with hope, adventure, heartbreak and love.

Content Warning: This production has been recommended for ages 10+, and please note that children under the age of 5 are not allowed into The Citadel Theatre. This production contains mentions of war, as well as an onstage childbirth. 

DETAILS

• This event is only open to ROOTS families.  

• Parents are required to purchase a ticket and attend with their child.

• Recommended Ages: 10+

• Are younger (non-participating) siblings welcome? No, and no one under 5 is allowed in the theatre

• Arrival Time: 10:45 am

• Any specific dress/attire required? Dress nicely please

• Should guests bring lunch? Yes - it is the recommendation of the Citadel for guests to bring packed lunches to be consumed during the intermission - guests are allowed to bring backpacks/lunch bags into the theatre, but food is not allowed to be consumed in the theatre. There is also access to a cafe, but time is limited.

• Registration deadline date: April 25, 2025 at 11:59 pm

• Refund Policy: No cancellations or refunds. If your family cannot attend you are welcome to find your own replacement. Please notify the organizer who will be taking your place.

PARENTS' HOUSEKEEPING

1. Parents are required to purchase a ticket and must remain with their child(ren) at all times.  Should you not be able to stay, a letter with the parent signature, stating who is responsible for your child in your absence (an adult staying on site), must be given to the event organizer.

2. Two times we have had difficulty with other schools bothering Roots students. If something occurs that you would like addressed, notify me at the venue. Otherwise there is nothing that can be done. Please tell your children.

3. Within a week or two before the performance, a reminder email with an Enrichment Guide to this production will be sent that will explore the themes and give more background information and context for the production. This is intended as an educational resource.

Students: Roots reserves the right to make final decisions regarding the acceptance of any student into the program. Students who do not demonstrate an attitude of cooperation and willingness to respect the rights and property of others will be dismissed after two warnings are issued. There will be no refund.

WAIVER

On behalf of my child, I/we hereby waive and release the Roots Christian Home Education Fellowship, The Father’s House Christian School and any Roots volunteer/facilitator/administrative staff of the Roots Christian Home Education Fellowship from any liability to my(our) children. I/We are fully aware of the risks and potential for harm involved in such events, and on behalf of our child, release from liability Roots Christian Home Education Fellowship (Roots), The Father’s House Christian School and waive any claims such minor may have as a result of an accident, mishap or negligence of the Released Party and/or and other party under or affiliated with the Released Party.

I acknowledge that I, the parent/guardian of the registered attendee/s agree to stay on site at the venue of the program, and if space allows in the classroom to oversee my child/ren for the duration of the program.  Should I not be able to stay at the venue with my child/ren, a handwritten note with my signature will be sent with my child and given to the program organizer, stating the adult who is staying on site and has agreed to be responsible for my child/ren for the duration of the program.
