Registered Roots students are invited to Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical at Storybook Theatre!

Inspired by the twisted genius of Roald Dahl, the Tony Award-winning Roald Dahl’s Matilda The Musical is the captivating masterpiece from the Royal Shakespeare Company that revels in the anarchy of childhood, the power of imagination and the inspiring story of a girl who dreams of a better life. With book by Dennis Kelly and original songs by Tim Minchin, Matilda has won 47 international awards and continues to thrill sold-out audiences of all ages around the world.

Packed with high-energy dance numbers, catchy songs and an unforgettable star turn for a young actress, Matilda is a joyous girl power romp. Children and adults alike will be thrilled and delighted by the story of the special little girl with an extraordinary imagination.

RECOMMENDED FOR AGES: Ages 6+ (Rated G)

(Unfortunately, babes in arms and younger siblings cannot attend this performance).

Please arrive at 9:45am sharp! We will be meeting in the theatre lobby, please look for the Roots homeschool sign and check in to get your tickets by 9:45am. The show begins at 10am. No late comers will be permitted to enter the theatre and no refunds will be given.

My child is not registered with Roots, can they still attend?

This theatre Fieldtrip is specifically for Roots students and their parents.   If you have other school-aged children that are with a different HS board please contact the organizer of the field trip to be placed on a waitlist. Spots for the fieldtrip will be offered to registered students first and in the event that there is extra room you will be contacted.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No, you do not have to bring a ticket. We will have a master list with all the registration info. Individual theatre tickets will not be issued, we will be directed to our reserved seats by theatre staff. 

If I am unable to attend may I get a refund?

We're sorry but we are unable to provide refunds. But, please feel free to find another Roots family to sell or pass along your tickets to.

Other Important Details: Food, beverages, gum, cell phones, cameras, and any recording devices are not allowed in the theatre. Please ensure that your students are aware of this.
