About the Event

We are thrilled that your school group will be joining us at the 2026 National Skilled Trades and Technology Week (NSTTW) Event taking place in Calgary, AB, on November 5th!

The theme of the 2026 NSTTW event is focused on one of the Skills for Success - Numeracy!

Numeracy is the ability to find, understand, use, and report mathematical information presented through words, numbers, symbols, and graphics. For example, we use this skill to perform calculations, do homework and play Monopoly!

When You Arrive:

Please look for the NSTTW outdoor sign near the entrance door.

A school group volunteer will greet your group onsite and direct you to the registration desk. At the registration desk, you will receive green bracelets for your students to participate in the Try-A-Trade® activities, along with bags containing the Skills for Success passports.

As students arrive, they will be divided into groups by school group volunteers and will be taken to different zones offering a variety of Try-A-Trade® and Technology activities that will be tied into the use of Numeracy. Students will be rotated through the different zones, that way all groups will have the opportunity to try as many activities as possible.

To ensure that they gain the most out of their experience, students will be provided a Skills for Success passport that they must complete and drop off into the box beside the school group registration desk for a chance to win a gift card.

VERY IMPORTANT!

Please ensure that your students:

  • Wear long pants and closed toed shoes if they want to participate in any of the Try-A-Trade® and Technology activities.

  • Have them return their signed Skills/Compétences Canada informed consent and assumption of risk form to you, giving permission to participate in all Try-A-Trade® and Technology activities onsite and granting SCC permission to take their photographs during the event.

Please note that students who have submitted a signed Informed Consent and Assumption of Risk Form will receive a green bracelet, which allows them to participate in all Try-A-Trade® and Technology activities.
