About the Event

This is a 4 day program for students ages 4-18. Students will be split into age groups to help adapt programming accordingly.

We are blessed to have some very talented instructors within Roots who will be working with our students for the 4 days of classes:

Heather Kemp will be teaching print making, abstract art, step by step landscape or floral painting. Students will have a handful of projects to take home after this class.

Kristen Federchuk will be teaching acrylic painting with the end project being an 11"x14" animal portrait done by each student to take home at the end of the 4 days.

Acting Up is coming back to teach the basics of drama; projection, clarity of speech, expressive voice, eye contact, body language, developing a character, props & costumes, and for the older groups - memorizing, moving on stage and rehearsing

Rebekah Rekken, one of our Roots teachers, will be running a gym class to help burn off that extra energy!

Voice of the Martyrs, Vanessa Brobbel,  has developed a course that has blended doodling/art with issues of persecution, culture/social studies, and what the Bible says about these things. We want you to know that she very wisely and carefully discusses issues of persecution according to age and is very aware that this is a sensitive topic. We are confident that this course will encourage a biblical foundation for social issues in caring and compassionate environment. The overall project the students will be working toward as a team is designing the artwork for a prayer calendar. Individual drawings will be combined to populate the final pages creating a calendar that each student will have as a keepsake and reminder to pray for their persecuted brothers and sisters. This portion of the program is only for students ages 12+ due to the content being discussed.

This program is for Roots familes & friends of Roots families only

Ages 4-5: This will be a morning program only for this age group.  Rebeca Sanchez has worked with students at the Roots support group meetings and has a variety of crafts, games and story time planned for the children.
