Roots World View Class Grades 7-12

To say that our culture is changing quickly seems to be an almost comical understatement in the year 2021. Many are celebrating the changes; others are alarmed and overwhelmed by the ideas that are taking hold in our society. Regardless, Christians have a duty to think through these ideas carefully, and to “take captive every thought and make it obedient to Christ.” (2 Cor. 10:5)

This course will compare and contrast the Christian worldview, as found in Scripture, with contemporary alternative worldviews—especially the worldview of Critical Theory—with the aim of helping students understand the ideas they are already encountering, whether they know it or not, every day.

NOTE: Students will be encouraged to give presentations in class throughout the course, and to pursue study of the topics in accordance with their interests, abilities, and maturity.

Time: 1-2:30pm Wednesdays weekly for 15 weeks

November 3 - December 8 (6 weeks)

Christmas Break: December 15 - 29 (3 weeks off)

Resume classes: January  -  March 2 (9 weeks)

Calgary - Parkdale Grace Fellowship Church 2608 1 Ave NW, Calgary, AB T2N 0C4, Canada

Edmonton - TBD, location will coincide with a cohort doing the World View Class for grades 1-7

Classes are being taught in person in Calgary and will be live streamed to an Edmonton class.  Our goal is to allow students across Alberta to participate in this program  and ask questions in real time. These classes are NOT being recorded.  We strongly suggest that parents sit in on the classes to enable further conversations at home after class time.

Students - $260 Roots families can pay directly from family funding by using the coupon code WVGrades7-12

Parents - Free when coming with a paid student
