About the Event
Please note the varied instructional start times for the swimming level. There are limited lifeguards available for each pool, so only 3 levels can be accomodated at each time slot. Note that in order to maintain instructor/ student rations there are limited tickets available for each swimming level. Should a level sell out, we will start a wait list for a second time slot.
Details:
Students will be taught the Lifesaving Society’s Swim for Life program (closest option to the Red Cross swim lessons)
Level 1 & 2: 9:30-10:15am 45 minute lessons - $38/student
Preschoolers: 9:45 - 10:15am 30 minute lessons - $22/student
Levels 1, 2 & 3: 10:15-11am 45 minute lessons - $38/student
Levels 4, 5 & 6: 11am-12pm 60 minute lessons- $42/student
Completion of the Swim Ability Form is required to be submitted to the Roots office (TammyE@rootshomeed.com) before the first class. If you are uncertain which level your child needs to register for review the Swimmer At a Glance chart by Swim for Life
Dates:
Daily Monday April 18th to Friday April 22nd
Please arrive and be ready for your lesson right at the start time. Swimmers will be asked to meet in the main foyer for the first lesson and then on the swim deck for all other days.
Registration Deadline: March 21 at 9am
DETAILS
Dress: Have your child dress appropriately for swimming class. Students need to be in swimming suits and long hair pulled back off the child’s face.
Parents Housekeeping:
- We need your assistance in ensuring that your children are at class on time and picked up at the end of each session on time. This allows the classes to start in a timely manner.
- Parents are responsible for transporting and supervising their children at all times while the child is not in class.
- There are no refunds past the registration deadline unless a class must be cancelled due to lack of student enrollment.
- Parents are allowed to stay and watch in the upper viewing area only.
Students: Roots reserves the right to make final decisions regarding the acceptance of any student into the program. Students who do not demonstrate an attitude of cooperation and willingness to respect the rights and property of others will be dismissed after two warnings are issued. There will be no refunds.
Health Concerns: The registration asks for student’s personal health information, so staff can adequately prepare any necessary modifications to their program. Note that this information will be passed on to class instructors to be used only for the purpose of instructing physical education classes safely. The onus is on parents to provide adequate information about the special medical needs of their children.
COVID Guidelines: As of Feb 25th non-participants are asked to wear a mask when in the building. This will be updated as guidelines change.
WAIVER
By registering for the Roots Gym program, I understand that TFH society and its branches Roots Home Education/The Father’s House Christian School, at all organizational levels, will not be held responsible for accidents, injury, loss or damage to an individual or any individual’s property. I agree the applicant/s are in good health and able to participate in the physical activity of this program. In the event the applicant is injured, I give permission for a staff member or parent volunteer to seek medical attention.
