Join us at West Edmonton Mall's Marine Life to learn more about some really awesome underwater creatures!

THERE ARE TWO DIFFERENT OPTIONS TO CHOOSE FROM: Circle of Life OR Sensational Animals - you will purchase a ticket for the program you would like to attend (please note that a child must be accompanied by a parent to the class chosen). All attendees (including babies) require a ticket to the program they will be attending.

Both programs will be followed by a 30 minute sea lion presentation.

Circle of Life:

Animals go through incredible and unique life cycles. In this exciting 60 minute expedition, students explore the unique life cycles of some of the animals at Marine Life and learn about the many ways in which animals transform from newborns to adults.

Sensational Animals:

We use our senses every day, but do animals? Do animals use their senses in the same way we use ours? In this 60 minute interactive workshop, students use their keen senses to uncover the mysteries of the animal world and discover how animals sense the world around them.

Please meet at the waterfall area behind Marine Life Information Centre at 9:45am. Participants who arrive later than the scheduled start time (10:00am) will be unable to join the group until the group is in the Sea Life Caverns or taking their seats in the grandstand for the sea lion show. Please allow time for construction and navigating through the mall in your arrival plan. Please take your child(ren) to the bathroom before the program begins, as it is difficult to rejoin the group unless they are in the caverns or being seated for the sea lion show.

DETAILS

• This event is only open to ROOTS families.  Two weeks prior to the registration deadline, non-Roots families can register if tickets are still available.

• Recommended Ages: All ages

• Are younger (non-participating) siblings welcome? Yes, but all attendees, including babies, must have a purchased ticket. Please note that the caverns are not wheelchair or stroller accessible.

• Any specific dress/attire required? Closed-toe/backed footwear are recommended due to walking, stairs, and slippery wet floors.

• Should guests bring lunch? No, there is a very strict no food or drink policy in all areas for the health and safety of guests and animals.

• Arrival Time:  9:45 am

• Registration deadline date: October 16, 2026

• Refund Policy: No refunds past registration deadline of October 16, 2026

PARENTS' HOUSEKEEPING

1. We need your assistance in ensuring that your family is at class on time. This allows the classes to start in a timely manner.

2. Parents are responsible for transporting and supervising their children at all times. Should you not be able to stay, a letter with the parent signature, stating who is responsible for your child in your absence (an adult staying on site), must be given to the event organizer.

3. There are no refunds past the registration deadline unless a class must be cancelled due to lack of student enrolment.

4. Each child is encouraged to bring a labelled water bottle, as water fountains are not always available.

Students: Roots reserves the right to make final decisions regarding the acceptance of any student into the program. Students who do not demonstrate an attitude of cooperation and willingness to respect the rights and property of others will be dismissed after two warnings are issued. There will be no refund.

WAIVER

On behalf of my child, I/we hereby waive and release the Roots Christian Home Education Fellowship, The Father’s House Christian School and any Roots volunteer/facilitator/administrative staff of the Roots Christian Home Education Fellowship from any liability to my(our) children. I/We are fully aware of the risks and potential for harm involved in such events, and on behalf of our child, release from liability Roots Christian Home Education Fellowship (Roots), The Father’s House Christian School and waive any claims such minor may have as a result of an accident, mishap or negligence of the Released Party and/or and other party under or affiliated with the Released Party.

I acknowledge that I, the parent/guardian of the registered attendee/s agree to stay on site at the venue of the program, and if space allows in the classroom to oversee my child/ren for the duration of the program.  Should I not be able to stay at the venue with my child/ren, a handwritten note with my signature will be sent with my child and given to the program organizer, stating the adult who is staying on site and has agreed to be responsible for my child/ren for the duration of the program.
