About the Event

This event has two options to choose from:

Option 1:

One Day Horsemanship Workshop on June 13, 14 OR 15 (8 spots available per day). Students will spend the day working with & learning about horses along with a trail ride. Lunch is included with student ticket.

  • Non-partcipating siblings are welcome to come with you, however they cannot participate in any capacity of the workshop (they will not be allowed on the horses), nor are there planned activities for them. Parents are fully responsible to oversee any non participating children at all times.  
  • Parents or non-participating children have the option to purchase lunch at an additional cost or bring thier own food. 
  • Supplies needed for day workshop
  • Blue Bronna Waiver (one per family) to be printed, signed and brought on day of workshop

Option 2:

Participants come for 3 days of instruction and stay overnight for two nights, June 13 and June 14 at the camp with their parents. (16 student spots available). Students will build on their horsemanship skills each day, price also includes trail riding.  Lunch for the three days is included with the student ticket cost. The program will run from 9am -5pm daily. 

  • Parents are required to stay at the camp for all 3 days with thier participating student
  • Non-partcipating siblings are welcome to come with you, however they cannot participate in any capacity of the workshop (they will not be allowed on the horses), nor are there planned activities for them. Parents are fully responsible to oversee any non participating children at all times.  
  • Lunch is included in the fees for participanting students. Parents and non-participating children have the option of purchasing lunch tickets or bringing thier own food. 
  • Breakfast & supper can either be purcahsed at an additional cost or you can bring your own. Plan that you will NOT have access to a fridge to store your food or a stove/microwave to heat foods up. 
  • Families staying overnight will be required to purchase an overnight ticket for $124.00 and can bring thier own tent, RV or stay in a cabin (indicate your choice of accomodation on the registration form).
  • Supplies needed for overnight stay 
  • Blue Bronna Waiver (one per family) to be printed, signed and brought on first day of the workshop.

Registration Deadline is May 8, 2023.

Cancellation/refund policy: Refunds will only be given if registration is cancelled by May 8th noon. After that no refunds can be given unles the program is cancelled by Roots due to a lack of registraitons, then a full refund will be given. 

Minimum Age Requirement

Students MUST be a minimum of 8 years old to participate in any of the workshops.

Coupon

Coupons are only premitted to be used for Roots registered students in grades 1-12 who choose to pay directly from thier family funding for the workshops (extra food tickets or accomadation ticket cannot be used with a coupon).

Details

  • Arrive by 8:45am 
  • Please bring cowboy boots if your child has them, otherwise the camp has some you can borrow
  • Helmets are provided for the students
  • Students must wear jeans or long pants
  • Please bring Alberta Health Care Cards for participating students.

Waiver

By registering for the Roots Gym program or other  activity that requires physical exertion, I understand that TFH society and its branches Roots Home Education/The Father’s House Christian School, at all organizational levels, will not be held responsible for accidents, injury, loss or damage to an individual or any individual’s property. I agree the applicant/s are in good health and able to participate in the physical activity of this program. In the event the applicant is injured, I give permission for a staff member or parent volunteer to seek medical attention.

I acknowledge that I, the parent/guardian of the registered attendee/s agree to stay on site at the venue of the program to oversee my child/ren for the duration of the program.  Should I not be able to stay at the venue with my child/ren, a handwritten note with my signature will be sent with my child and given to the program organizer, stating the adult who is staying on site and has agreed to be responsible for my child/ren for the duration of the program.
