The online program will cover the following:
Social media and youth mental health:
o Discussion of pros and cons of social media.
o Current youth social media trends.
o The impacts of social media on youth mental health.
o Cyberbullying
o Tips for parents/guardians/professionals on how to talk to their
youth and manage their social media use.
Privacy Protection:
“Is my device spying on me?”
o Discussion about the Terms of Service/Agreement on popular social media platforms such as Facebook and snapchat.
o What kind of information are you permitting social media services to access? This may include: your online activity, location services and connections with other users.
o Discussion about Doxing.
o Safety tips to protect your privacy.
Cybercrimes:
Fraudulent emails/Phishing:
· How to avoid being victimized.
· What to do when victimized.
Recommended Ages
Presentation is geared for ages 12+ Parental discretion is advised for younger children.
Parents please be aware of the sensitivity of the topic and keep that in mind with younger children around.
This event is open to any homeschool families, so feel free to spread the word and invite your friends.

A zoom link will be emailed to the same email you have used to register for this event the day before the event (November 18th). Please be logged in and ready by 10am on Novmeber 19th for the presentation.
