About the Event
Lessons for beginners taught on zoom through the interactive Lichess website. Classes are divided into 3 sections, concepts, games and personalized exercises + free homework. There are 6 students in each group and each week 1 student plays the entire class. Students will improve on skills such as Problem Solving, Deductive Reasoning and Creative Thinking by solving chess puzzles and creating their own personalized process to find the best chess move.
Lichess Software allows highlighting of pieces and drawing arrows to facilitate learning and visualization of piece movement for students
Topics
Week 1: Piece movement, 3 options when in check + free piece strategy
Week 2: 3 options when defending+ multiple attackers and defender calculation
Week 3: Xray Attack, The Check and Take+ Special Moves
Week 4: Removing the Defender, Piece coordination +Visualization
Week 5: Most important class Pin and Fork(requires looking 2 moves ahead)!!
Week 6: Checkmate scenarios + checkmate in 1 mate and full recap
Instructor is Steven Bloom with Bloominchess4kids (instagram & Facebook).
Registration deadline is September 15, 2021.
