Roots Worldview Course 2023

Using “Walking in Truth” by Summit Ministries as a spine, Roots worldview course explores questions about God, the universe, people, truth, and right and wrong. The first few weeks seek to create a Biblical framework out of which students will be able to seek the answers to the questions. The remaining weeks will evaluate and critique how three competing worldviews – Islam, naturalism, and new spirituality – interpret these questions and compare that to a Christian worldview. This course is intended for students from middle school to high school.

The course itself will guide students through the main ideas, but much of the student learning will occur in the questions asked and in the student reflection. If you are participating on-line, please try to join one of the various pods so you and your child can be part of the discussion. If joining a learning pod is not possible, it is very important that you attend on-line with your child and engage your child in the discussion questions provided. This is where the learning will become internalized.

Each child is required to bring a Bible, a binder for notes and other handouts, a writing utensil, and a willingness to learn and engage in graceful conversation. Students may wish to also have a separate journal for the reflection questions. However, they can complete these questions in their binders.

Each week, a short review package and some journal questions will be sent home. These are for your use in your home.

The first student in a household  $267.00

Additional siblings in a household  $240.00

Parents FREE

Families will receive one workbook per household (worked into the cost of the 1st student) to aid in additional conversation at home for specific units.

WAIVER

On behalf of my child, I/we hereby waive and release the Roots Christian Home Education Fellowship,The Father’s House Christian School and any Roots volunteer/facilitator/administrative staff of the Roots Christian Home Education Fellowship from any liability to my(our) children. I/We are fully aware of the risks and potential for harm involved in such events, and on behalf of our child, release from liability Roots Christian Home Education Fellowship (Roots), The Father’s House Christian School and waive any claims such minor may have as a result of an accident, mishap or negligence of the Released Party and/or and other party under or affiliated with the Released Party.

I acknowledge that I, the parent/guardian of the registered attendee/s agree to stay on site at the venue of the program, and if space allows in the classroom to oversee my child/ren for the duration of the program.  Should I not be able to stay at the venue with my child/ren, a handwritten note with my signature will be sent with my child and given to the program organizer, stating the adult who is staying on site and has agreed to be responsible for my child/ren for the duration of the program.
